Richard Hugh Blackford broke into the art world in May 2005 with his first public exhibition of a range of cricket paintings entitled "Images of The Game" held at the world reknowned Sabina Park cricket ground in Kingston, Jamaica during the visit of the touring South African cricket team. The response was overwhelming as cricket fans and afficionados gobbled up the 43 pieces that were on display during the seven day showing. Since then the artist has exhibited in London at the Gloucestershire Cricket Festival in 2005, at the Antigua Recreation Ground in St. Johns, Antigua in 2006, and at the 2007 ICC Cricket World Cup Finals in Bridgetown, Barbados.

Cricket painting by Jamaican artist Richard H.Blackford featuring the great Jamaican and West Indian batsman George Alphanso Headley. A Panamanian by birth, Headly moved to Jamaica as a youth and by 1929 was representing the newly formed West Indian cricket team where he distinguished himself as a master batsman scoring 10 test centuries in 20 Test matches including two double centuries. Twice he immortalized himself scoring a century in each innings.
